Character Info

All the characters on 'Daria' are complex, unique, and interesting, so here's a look into their personalities. I'll put a pic up of each character soon. Like, when I have them.

Daria Morgendorffer

Daria is approximately 18 years old. She has brown hair and brown eyes, and is 5'2" inches tall. Her vision problems cause her to need corrective eyewear, and her "I don't care about my looks" attitude leads her to wear glasses, except when she tries contacts once. Her attitude also leads her to wear combat boots, a black pleated skirt, an orange shirt, and a green flack-jacket. She is at once sarcastic, cynical, intelligent, pretty, and caring. Yes, caring. She's best friends with Jane Lane, and her boyfriend is Tom Sloane.

Quinn Morgendorffer

Quinn is about 16 and a half. She has brownish-red hair and brown eyes, and owns reading glasses. Her height is unknown, but she's a bit taller than Daria. Her outfit of choice is usually a pair of blue pants and a pink 3/4 sleeved shirt with a butterfly on the front. She is popular and outgoing, but has underlying problems, and is smarter than she is made out to be. She dates constantly, and is a part of the fashion club, along with Sandi Griffin, Tiffany Blum-Deckler, and Stacy Rowe. She's Daria's sister.

Helen and Jake Morgendorffer

Helen is in her late forties, and Jake in his mid-forties. Helen's hair is golden-brown, and Jake's is normal brown. Both have brown eyes. Helen is a litigator, wears a pink powersuit, and works 16 hour days. She bonds more strongly with Daria than with Quinn. She harbors resentmet towards her mother, who favored her sister Rita over her. Jake is a basically out-of-work consultant, who tries very hard to be a loving husband and father, but just doesn't get it sometimes. His strongest bond is with Daria. He harbors much anger towards his dead father, "Mad Dog," who mistreated him. He bursts out into rants and bursts blood vessels often.

Jane Lane

Jane is about 18 also, and is Daria's best friend. She has black hair and blue eyes, and has three piercings in her ears. She's taller than Daria, and runs a lot. She's also a very talented artist who gets tricked and scammed into lending her talent a lot by her art teacher and by other people. Her brother Trent is the only person home with her, as their parents are nomadic artists scouring the globe for the holy grail of all photographs and and pottery. She has two brothers, Trent and Wind, and Two sisters, Penny and Summer.

Trent Lane

Trent is 23, and is Jane's brother and Daria's friend. He has black hair, brown eyes, and multiple piercings and tattoos. He's also very tall. He's in a rock band called Mystik Spiral, which really sucks, and he has no money, so he lives at home. Daria used to have a crush on him, which he seemed to realize, because he toyed with it a bit a couple of times before telling her that his idea of commitment is way different than hers. Though that had nothing to do with a relationship. He's also a bit flaky. His siblings are the same as Janes.

Sandi Griffin

Sandi's age is disputed, since she has been seen driving when Quinn was too young, but is also in Quinn's classes. She was either held back, or driving illegally. She's the same height as Quinn, has brown hair and slightly olive skin, and brown eyes. She's also in the fashion club, and dates a lot. She once gained a lot of weight, but is now back to normal. She's also very, um, bitchy at times, and a definite dominator in personality, just like her mother. Her two younger brothers, Sam and Chris, are very annoying, and follow Quinn around.

Tiffany Blum-Deckler

Tiffany is also about Quinn's age. She has black hair and brown eyes (Asian decent), and is always obsessing over herself, mainly over her weight ("Does this make me look fat?"). She's very slow, and frustrates people a lot, including mainly Daria and Stacy. Nothing is known about her family or siblings. She apparently dates a lot (we don't hear much about it).

Stacy Rowe

Stacy, again, is Quinn's age. She has brown hair and (presumably) brown eyes, and is of normal height. She's paranoid and a bit shy, and obsesses over her mistakes. She also sucks up to everyone in the hopes that they will like her more. Sometimes she says too much, or talks to much, and is often dated only once by any given guy. We also don't know anything about her family, though speculations have been made.

Thomas Sloane

Tom is Daria's boyfriend. He's tall, and has brown hair, blue or green eyes, and a flair for expensive casual dress. He's into literature of a more twisted nature, which is what got himself and Daria together as a couple, while he and Jane were still dating! He lives at home with his ultra-rich Mom and Dad, who is part of the elite trading company, 'Gray, Sloane, and Page', or something like that. His sister Elsie is a faux-jaded brat. Both kids go to private schools.

"The Three J's"

The three J's are Joey, who has black hair and brown eyes, Jeffy, with red hair and brown eyes, and Jamie, with blond hair and indeterminate eye color. People always forget Jamie's name and use something else instead, like Jerome, Jamiel, and Johnny. Jamie also has Dyslexia. All three boys are constantly pining and fighting over Quinn, who loves the attention very much. She uses them like toilet paper and they come back for more.

Jodie and Mack

Jodie Landon and Michael MacKenzie (Mack) are Lawndale High's only smart black couple. Jodie is in all sorts of extra-curricular activities which her over-obsessive parents forced her into, to look good on her college resume. Mack is on the school's football team as the captain, and is constantly annoyed by Kevin calling him "Mack Daddy." Both have problems dealing with the role society has forced upon them, but they manage.

Kevin and Brittany

Kevin Thompson and Brittany Taylor are the school's stupidest couple. Brit is captain of the cheer squad, and talks with an annoying squeak. She knows martial arts, and is always arguing with Kevin. Kevin is QB of LH's football team, annoys Mack and Daria, and has a dangerously low IQ, which no one is concerned about. He and Brit are very promiscuous, and make out on the bus, at home, in the car, in the theater, and at the school library.

Upchuck

Charles Ruttheimer the third, better known as Upchuck by most of the school, has curly red hair and brown eyes. He's a nerd and a dork, and is always spying on girls. He also hits on them relentlessly and tries to get them to date him, so far unsuccesfully. Which is good for the entire population of the school. His dad is rich, and he is, too, kind of.

The Faculty

No, not the movie, the teachers at Lawndale High, where most everybody goes to school. They include the principle, Ms. Li, a middle-aged Asian lady in a pantsuit, who uses the schools funds for more security measures, in order to bring honor and glory to "Laaaaaaaaawndaaaaale Hiiiiigh."

The English teacher is Timothy O'Neill, a youngish-middle-aged wimp into New-Age remedies and ideologies. He's an absolute pushover, and is always crying about something. The history teacher is Anthony DeMartino, a psychotic Viet Nam veteran with an eye-twitch, a shouting problem, and is always complaining about the students' idiocy and the poor wages. Janet Barch teaches science. Nothing much to her, except that she's a bitch most of the time, hates all men (except Timothy O'Niell), and complains often about her ex-husband.

Ms. Morris and Claire Defoe teach the school's elective classes, Gym and Art respectively. Ms. Morris is mean, especially to Jane, and wants everybody to be happy, perky, and into athletics. Ms. Defoe is also kind of a pushover who lets her roomates have her apartment. She teaches art with a quiet pacifist judgement that unnerves some people.
